Puma & Bobcat Sightings Map

I work in the Marin Headlands within the Golden Gate National Recreation area. On Sunday night around 8:45 - 9:00pm I sighted a mountain lion crossing Bunker Road. At first, I thought it was a deer but then I noticed the size and a large tail. I did not get a photo.

The animal crossed just below my yard gate moving quickly and quietly east to west along Norman Drive at something like 10 mph. At first I thought my dog had gotten out. I realized after the fact what it must have been. This sighting coincides with other facts. There is a house at the end of my street (Baldwin, not Norman). The house was bought by investors and has been left sitting vacant a long time now. We walk our two bulldogges there. During the last two days, each of the bulldogges separately got to the site, turned, and ran for home at top speed. Another neighbor reported hearing a sound inside or in back of the house. I think the puma may have taken up residence there.

Saw this large cat (seemed like an adolescent perhaps) crossing the road and climbing up the steep cliffs to the East of the road. Seemed unphased by my car/headlights, etc.

My cat was attacked and killed in my front yard about 4 feet from my front door. He has also been seen several times in the last week or so, looks like a large male maybe?

riding my motorcycle home she was just trotting down the road I stopped and let her find her way off the road then i went home they are so beautiful.

A full grown mountain lion crossed Old La Honda Road quickly, as I was driving home. (It turned to look, but did not break stride, as it came up from the ravine/creek below, and continued up the side of the hill on th other side of the hill.) Age is uncertain, but likely an older lion based on habitus.

I think I saw a dead mountain lion on Portola road on my way to Windy Hill Park. The carcass was gone by the time I drove back from Windy Hill Park two hours later, so it must have been removed. Not sure if you can confirm with whoever is responsible for taking care of roadkill.

Saw 3 young mountain lions on our property. They were in the dirt and then in the greens waste can. They took some food out and ran under our porch.

Deer carcass found behind my house around this date. Fish and Game has been out to investigate. There have been numerous sightings in this approximate area over the past few weeks.

I don't know if the "Pleasanton Ridge " is the real name of the open space park that I live near an take my dog for hikes at but this is where the cat was. This park is just past the main entrance of Castlewood country club on I believe foothill in Pleasanton. I

am very familiar with mountain lions as I also own a gold mining claim on the middle fork of the Yuba river and I have had a few encounters up there as well over the last several years so I definitely know that this was a mountain lion. My friend, my dog and I were almost done with the hike and we were heading back down towards the car. There is a Grove of olives and we actually walked right past the cat without even noticing him/her. It was not until we got down from the trail that walks next to the olive trees and a man and woman were there any had been looking up towards the olive trees. They said that we had just walked past a mountain lion. Sure enough there he/she was sitting under a olive trees 2 rows in from the last tree. I think it was a male because it was a very large cat. It looked healthy and mature. We just stood there watching him and he sat there watching us.

This was a very young cat, found on HWY 9 near mile marker 1.27. Hit by auto,It was a female. I moved it from the middle of the road way to the up hill side of the hill. I do have pictures. My phone # 408-761-6047 Jon

Saw the Mt. Lion on top of deer carcass, fresh kill. The next night, I heard it fighting with raccoons, then saw it in front of my neighbors house.

Mountain lion views stalking deer just west of Green Valley Creek. Golf course was not open that day.

Saw two young lions crossing highway 84 heading up the hill from Thornewood preserve. I estimate them to be about 70lbs each. My first sighting, but they looked long and lean.
