Puma & Bobcat Sightings Map

camera trap photo of mountain lion passing behind my backyard fence. My backyard is just above Aptos Creek and borders on Nisene Marks State Park. 338 Village Creek Dr, to be exact.

At bottom of our steep hill this morning, loud noises (frightening) and large figure in tree. When figure came running down from tree (still shrieking), appeared to be a mountain lion. We googled the sound and it sounded like female mating call? There is a large deer colony living on our hill. Reason for concern is that we are about 2 blocks from Glorietta Elementary school in Orinda.

Family goat killed by puma.

A cougar killed our 175lb 11 year old healthy goat in a corral. 240 Sanborn Lane Felton Ca 95018. Some time between the evening of the 16th and afternoon 17th. A cougar also killed a goat next door on El Solyo Heights just a day earlier.

Killed 1 adult goat + 2 pygmies. One week earlier, another kill of 2 goats 3 miles away, and a week before that - another kill of 3 goats about 10 miles away. He did not eat his kill. Please contact me.

We actually have a killed goat on the 15th at 1:30 am and a live sighting on 16th at 9 pm..and a kill on Sanborn 16th late evening

Found a deer carcass (see photo) that I think may have been a puma victim. It was off to the right of the Nisene Marks main road, after the steel bridge approx. 1/4 mile and between Aptos Creek and the fire road. a few more photos.

Sighted a puma with wildlife biologist Sue Townsend. We got a good, long look at it with binoculars. It saw us, then walked away north. Distinctive walk and long puma tail. We were on edge of Marin County Open Space preserve, it was on Lucas property. (I work for Marin County OSD) No pic unfortunately.

In Santa Cruz on the 700 block of High Street near Laurent St. The mature lion crossed High St. in front of me going north then proceeded up High St. west 1/2 block along the fence, turned right to head up along the back yards of Ross St.

i believe this was the first cat a second time as it has no collar. I have video of this cat off of my surveillance cam.

This picture was captured on our property with our game camera. Kinda scary but we knew they were out there. It appears to be wearing a GPS tracking collar.

I have been hiking in Tilden park for the last twenty years and this is a first for me.

I reported this to the SM County Sheriff & Fish & Game. Not sure of date. Fresh Deer carcass on trail off Elm/George in Montara. All of the deer organs had been eaten/back half of deer was gone. Deers eyes had not glazed over yet so it was a very fresh kill. No blood on grass so it killed elsewhere, the remains were being carried to another location. I must have startled the lion and it dropped the remains. A neighbor told me that he had seen a Mtn. Lion crossing George by the creek at night when he comes home from work. I told the Sheriff about this and he knew the neighbor and was going to talk to him. It took over a week for Fish & Game to call me back, and he said that unless someone is attacked, they won't do anything about a Puma.

I wanted to report a sighting but with all of the useful information online there was no information on HOW to report a sighting. Hopefully you can get this information to the right people...The sighting was today 1/11/15 around 7am...Santa Cruz, it looked like a young cat, a little bigger than a Golden Retriever...It was walking on the side of the road and then darted into the forest...This was on Highland Ave, which borders UCSC and Wilder Ranch....The Cat actually ran into the forest that considered the top of Harvey West park...Anyways, just wanted to get the sighting documented somehow...Thanks Jenny

A mountain lion was spotted last night in the Mark West Estates neighborhood in Santa Rosa Ca at 12:30 p.m. Approximately 80 -90 lbs. walking the sidewalks in front of houses.
