While many people are confident they've seen a puma, not all of these sightings are accurate. The map below includes both confirmed and unverified puma sightings in the larger San Francisco Bay region (and beyond) since 2004.
Over time, this will help us evaluate problem areas, movement barriers for wildlife, and potential for human-puma conflict.

The Mountain lion jumped in front of my car and ran in front of me on the road for about 100 feet before veering off onto Sylvia Way. Don't know if it was a male or female, but it was big and beautiful.

I live near Croy rd in Morgan Hill and was outside around 10:30pm, after a few minutes I looked out in to our yard from our deck and realized there was a large male mountain lion about 15 feet from me. He was not aware I was there until I shouted to scare him off. The next morning we found his prey carcass on our property.

My friend and I clearly saw what appeared to be a young puma lope across the road at about 7:45 am. There was no doubt whatsoever it was a puma. I have seen them before, as an equestrian.

By Julia Reis Mar 30, 2016.When Elkus Ranch staffers came in for work the morning of Feb. 28, they were met with a disturbing sight.There were dead goats strewn around a barn stall where livestock are housed overnight. In a pen nearby, a mother goat that was pregnant with triplets had also been killed. A predator managed to grab the goat's head from between gaps in the enclosure.

Was exploring area with buddy, as I created a ridge I happened to look back toward the road and immediately saw him. No more than 100 yards away, in a clearing, sun behind him. Long thick tail, that slow unmistakable cat walk. We watched him about 20-30 seconds until in slowly walked into the brush. Approx 60-80 lbs.
