While many people are confident they've seen a puma, not all of these sightings are accurate. The map below includes both confirmed and unverified puma sightings in the larger San Francisco Bay region (and beyond) since 2004.
Over time, this will help us evaluate problem areas, movement barriers for wildlife, and potential for human-puma conflict.

We saw what we believe was a young ish mountain lion this morning on the lower TN Valley trail, right by the little bridge. It was definitely feline and too big to be a bobcat!

It was walking up hill on the trail as we rounded the corner. We waited until it moved farther away from us, then took the unnamed trail to the right. I had binoculars and was able to see the puma's face. It was much larger than any coyote I have ever seen before. Unfortunately we were more focused on creating distance than taking a photo.

Lion captured on Trail cam. The cam is setup next to a Cistern / Well. There is an overflow tub, and wild life are often observed eating from tub/well. Lion was captured at night on cam. Lion was spotted on trail close proximity within the last few months.

Lion killed/ate goat in 4H farm pen then hid next to shed all day in a 10 inch wide space, facing trail. Trail-walker first noticed lion in hiding spot mid-morning. CA F&W took no action, farm animals evacuated while lion sat there. Lion was watched on-site from until after 7pm. Left sometime after midnight, confirmed by cam recordings in neighborhood.
