Puma & Bobcat Sightings Map
While many people are confident they've seen a puma, not all of these sightings are accurate. The map below includes both confirmed and unverified puma sightings in the larger San Francisco Bay region (and beyond) since 2004.
Over time, this will help us evaluate problem areas, movement barriers for wildlife, and potential for human-puma conflict.

At least twice a month this cat walks through our property. Usually very early morning, but recently the time has become closer to our waking hours which worries me as we have two dogs who we let out in the yard near the 6:00 am time frame. The latest videos (3 from our different blink cameras) show this past week's visit at 6:13 am which was right after our dogs came in from their morning wake up routine. Scary.

My headlamp caught bright reflection of a pair of eyes ! 3 feet off the ground, and I could tell by the distance between the eyes that it was an animal of considerable size. The animal did not bolt, as deer would do, when I shouted at my husband to stop and back away. It was already dark. The next day, fresh fur-logged scat, over 1" in diameter was found, about 30 feet away from the sighting spot. I didn't actually see the animal. Didn't have my phone with me to grab a pic of the scat. When I returned with a ruler and camera, a neighbor must have already cleaned the scat away (on pavement). From pics of scat, it was not coyote scat. Fur in the scat was the type on deer.

MOUNTAIN LION encounter at Quail Hollow in Felton. Went on the trail by the ranch today at Quail Hallow (the flat little loop where the turkeys hang out) and a giant cat roared and jumped down from a tree maybe 20ft from where our little group was. The tree shook, the ground thumped, the sound was a roar like the lion in the opening credits of a paramount movie...scariest moment of my life. We yelled, I dug through my pack for my taser I threw in at the last moment and we yelled to our children to stop running. It must've come down to that location because of the fires. Not all of those turkeys will make it tonight. I told a lady on the ranch who looked like she lived there, she was tending to horses there. It was so close. It may have been hunting or we startled it sleeping in the tree and it jumped down. It looked like it was dusk because of the orange sky.
