Puma & Bobcat Sightings Map
While many people are confident they've seen a puma, not all of these sightings are accurate. The map below includes both confirmed and unverified puma sightings in the larger San Francisco Bay region (and beyond) since 2004.
Over time, this will help us evaluate problem areas, movement barriers for wildlife, and potential for human-puma conflict.

Early in the morning, I heard a noise and saw a movement across San Anselmo creek near the intersection of Glen Rd. and Creek Rd. I flashed my head lamp in that direction (S) and caught two eyes. I assumed it was a raccoon, but kept watching. I saw what I believe was a young fairly slender (100-150 lbs?) mountain lion- and caught a glimpse of a long u-shaped tail. Recently (about 1.5-2 weeks ago) I spotted a deer carcass up Glen rd. in the small open space area near the culvert that goes under the playground at Lansdale Station.

On the morning of Feb 5th, I walked into my bathroom just after 7am and heard a loud rafter of turkeys outside. I pulled back the blind, and made direct eye contact with the mountain lion, who slowly trotted down the slope of our property and into the Jasper Ridge preserve.

We have seen a collared mt lion walking across our property on our game cam. it seems to go only one way and comes by ever week or so. Looks like it is in a circle pattern. We have seen a few sightings over the last months but one didn't have a collar and this one that we have seen twice has one.

While I was filming the bluemoon supermoon lunar eclipse I saw a big animal with long tail moving slowly like a cat seen in the parking lot about 50 meters from me. I ran towards my car as fast as I could. It was much bigger than a Coyote and a dear whould not have such a long tail.

Small- to medium-sized wildcat slunk across the bridge in front of our group as we were riding our bicycles. Initially thought it was a large bobcat by its coloration, but we identified it as a mountain lion by its long, heavy, dark-tipped tail. It disappeared back into the creek bed.
