Puma & Bobcat Sightings Map

One bobcat spotted on the trail just above the parking lot at Mitchell Canyon. 

Hiking on Sycamore near the bottom of the elevation and saw a brown flash on the trail ahead to a diagonal about 50-100 feet. The cougar stepped forward about 5 feet and paused to look at us, we got a good look at the tail and animal. It paused for about 5-10 seconds before walking in the opposite direction away from us. 

I was jogging up the canyon road and the cat was just off to my left up the embankment. Both paused to check eachother out, then carried on with our days. Wonderful encounter! Also saw turkeys and deer in the area, in the direction the cat was headed. 

Comes to my bird feeder often. 

The bobcat was crossing Route 92. 

Was walking on the Nimitz Way for a while, including towards me slowly. But was not threatening. Then went down the hill eastward. 

Small bobcat crossed the Nimitz trail in front of me and then sat in the trees uphill from the trail for a few minutes.

A domestic cat carcass was found that appeared to be a possible puma prey. When I looked up what parts of a cat a mountain lion will eat, the description fit accurately to the carcass that was found.

There has been a family of foxes (1 mama, 2 babies) under our deck and in and around our yard since June. 5 (when we first saw the babies - I suspect they were born under the deck about a month before that??). Last night at 11:15pm I heard an awful sound and saw a mountail lion get one of the baby foxes. The mountain lion ran away when it saw me (I was inside). The baby fox was badly mamed and struggled on our deck before pulling itself off the deck into it's den under the deck. The mountail lion then returned and I watched it as it stalked the site. I never saw it retrieve the injured baby from under the deck. Mama fox returned about 30 minutes later and called out and prowled the area for about 3 hours - I am assuming trying to locate the other baby? I have lived in Marin since 1977 and have never seen a mountain lion  - not even in open space. Absolutely stunned to see it in my fenced yard in Terra Linda.

Two mountain lions walked up our driveway around 8:00 pm (still light out). One dashed into the woods by the creek, the other continued to follow the driveway until it ended and it headed into the woods, up the hill. 

I was looking outside my window and there was a bobcat in the open space.

Bobcat

This is a big black cat! Almost as big as my Weimeriner. It has been pooping on our porch every night and dragging up bark onto the porch. It also digs though are small palms. My wife and son have both seen it. We live on 34 acres on the Central Coast. We also have seen Mountain Lions on the property, but this animal is different. It is black with golden eyes. Our Weimeriner scared it off the porch a couple nights ago and have not seen it since. Any information would be helpful!

A bobcat walked across my back yard and hopped over the fence into neighbor’s yard. Happened so fast I did not have the chance to film or take photo.

Live mountain lion encounter in Gridley Canyon. Stood tall without sudden movements, spoke assertively, and slowly backed away. 

An evening visit, then up and over the fence.

The lion was in our driveway very close to the house and heading towards the chicken house.  We live on 50 acres close to the Wohler Bridge and the driveway goes half a mile up to the top of the hill.  The lion did not spook or run away when he saw me.  The crows were carrying on so loudly which is why I went to look.  He must have gone behind the chicken house because they went crazy.  I tried to follow him but he disappeared.  He was magnificent and looked very healthy.
