Puma & Bobcat Sightings Map
While many people are confident they've seen a puma, not all of these sightings are accurate. The map below includes both confirmed and unverified puma sightings in the larger San Francisco Bay region (and beyond) since 2004.
Over time, this will help us evaluate problem areas, movement barriers for wildlife, and potential for human-puma conflict.

It was 11:18pm, I was looking for my cat to bring her in for the night and I saw eyes reflecting from down on the street where my cat usually comes across from my neighbors. My cat usually looks at me the whole time and comes straight across the street once she pops her head up, but these eyes kept looking real quick and looking away, looking real quick and looking away. I thought it was strange so I turned my spot light on and there it was sitting just to the side of the road. I yelled my cats name in panic thinking it must have gotten her and the mountain lion jumped down the hill. Seconds later my cat popped her head up and came running across the street. She darted straight inside and shook, mud and water went everywhere.
my guess is she was hiding in the culvert under the road because cats don’t just lay down in mud and water willingly. She was soaked and matted.
She must have had a really close call and that mountain lion was waiting above the drainage pipe like cats wait above a gofer hole just waiting for their prey to think the coast is clear and pop their head out.
My cat has not wanted to go outside since.
