Puma & Bobcat Sightings Map

It looked like a young mountain lion (not adult). There are a lot of deers in this area and in fact there was a group of deers half an hour later. I saw it from my window. Should I also notify authorities?

At approximately 8:15am saw what appeared to be fully black mountain lion (which admittedly made me question the sighting, but it was much larger than my medium sized dog or a bobcat).   Possibly a female or juvenile?   Ignored me, my dog, and a few other passers by as we walked about 50-100 feet away. 

Area has had mountain lion populations before and is frequented by deer, foxes, etc. with access to a seasonal creek.

Came up over a rise on Grizzly Peak Trail and saw a mountain lion ~30 ft away turning around and quickly walking away from me and my dog. No mistaking the long flowing tail.

Called EBRPD, and when two employees came to meet me on the trail, they reported finding a deer carcass earlier in the week. Soon signs were posted at the trailheads reporting "several mountain lion sightings in the area from Nov. 5-10"

Estero Trail, Pt Reye; Came up on mountain lion heading same direction as myself. At first thought it was a deer but quickly realized that it was a lion. Followed for 1/4 mile.

~5 mile marker on Palomares Road.(5 miles from Castro Valley, north end of the road). Bob cat.

May be same bobcat I reported earlier.  The 2 buckets contain water, put out for the wildlife during our heatwave, although the bobcat did not seem interested. 

Mt Lion was seen crossing Moeser Lane by a resident out walking in the morning.

There were 2 young cubs on our property next to our driveway last night. I saw them when I drove up, then about 15 minutes later went back with a flashlight and they were still there. We heard rustling in the trees, which may have been the mamma watching us, but we only saw the cubs. Our property is 7 acres of wooded properly, undeveloped except for our house/garage/etc.

it was in a back yard for more than 30 min. Just walked around every corners. It walk close to all back yard door to observe inside a house. It dit not going to front yard or side walk. It was rest in sun bath around 15 min and left

Large mt lion moving from N to S from meadow past cabin. Partially obscured by shrubs and tall grass. Observed at distance of 100 ft with strong headlamp.

I awoke to loud thrashing noises outside my home. Soon after, I heard a distinct mountain lion call. I could hear another animal thrashing about and making noises, and the next morning, the surrounding brush was matted and trampled, leading me to believe the other animal was a deer.

Two young cubs sighted in thicket. Multiple sightings of cubs in area over three week period.

Not sure if this is a bobcat or not to be fair 

We were driving on a private road and came around the corner to see the cat in the road. It jumped up the bank and sat still watching us for a few minutes, about 20 ft. away.

Two other cyclists and I were riding on Glenwood road toward hwy 17, as we rounded the sharp right turn about 1.25 miles from 17, the large dark shaded cat ran along the road for about 100 feet then back into the brush.

Checked watering system at dawn and began pruning roses. Had an eerie feeling and turned around to see the hind quarters anof a 2 and a half to three foot tall grey brown furry animal with a foot and a half to two foo thin tail with a tuft of hair on the tip. The animal was fifteen feet away and moving away from me down one of my garden brick pathways. It was wet, having probably drunk in one of my fountains. Later, I found that one of my garden gates was open. A week later, a full grown puma was seen at dusk at the nearby Edgewood Reservoir. Several days afterward, a neighbor found a puma pawprint in his garden

Ran across Valley Drive from Park Lane about 75 feet in front of me (I was driving thankfully). It was the size of a large tan-coloured dog (75-85 lbs), but the tail was not a dog's and did not behave like a dog's tail (very long, curved like a cat's tail, darker tip). It was moving very fast, and I was not able to see it once it made it across the road.

The motion lights came on and I looked out the window expecting to see a deer grazing on the hillside. It was very dark but for a few seconds I saw the back side and thick tale of a light colored fur paused on the gate top. I could not see the front half of the animal. Deer, Quail, Skunk, Racoon and birds are often around here and trash cans were out for next day pick up. This is near the top of a ridge across the valley from Mt. Tamalpais State Park.

We were driving away from the parking lot at Pierce Point ranch and see the lion on the lawn less than 100 yards away. He was sauntering across the lawn for just a few minutes and then went back into the tall grass to the right. We watched him for about 5 minutes.
