While many people are confident they've seen a puma, not all of these sightings are accurate. The map below includes both confirmed and unverified puma sightings in the larger San Francisco Bay region (and beyond) since 2004.
Over time, this will help us evaluate problem areas, movement barriers for wildlife, and potential for human-puma conflict.

We saw a big animal from far away. Looked like it had thick arms and legs. No bushy tail like a coyote and too big to be a bobcat/fox. Was pouncing on something up on the open grassy hillside.

This cat lives at 734 Bicknell Rd. I live at 730 Bicknell and see it a lot, have photos and video. Today it chilled on my stone wall having a bath. It went to hunt the ground squirrels in our yard, but a coyote chased it away.

BOBCAT: (See Attached Photo) Seen near a trail near Boccardo Loop Trail Lookout Point. An adult young large male bobcat in his prime. He didn't seem uncomfortable with people nearby and was seen just before sunset on a south facing hillside. His full winter coat is noticeable in the attached photo.

This Bobcat was 60 feet from the paved road and observed before sunset. Two other bobcats were seen about a mile away 20 minutes earlier. It had its thick winter coat on. Couldn't tell the animal's gender. Not overly scared of cars apparently. It was licking the fur on its lower spine and stopped walking to itch its head with its rear leg. Five or so Yellow-billed magpies were seen nearby also. It was in a heavily cattle grazed pasture on a south facing hillside.

Two Bobcats seen but i don't have a picture of them together. They were in a heavily grazed cattle pasture near tall bunch grasses. One was further up near the top of the hill near oak trees and stopped likely to examine rodent burrows in the ground. They both appeared to be adult bobcats. The closer one near the bottom of the hill stopped walking to scent mark some of the bunch grasses and that is what it is doing in the attached photo.
